King's Gate Primary School

Year 2

Welcome to Terms 3 and 4

 On the way Home

and

The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess

Knowledge Organiser

This term, we will be using the books On the Way Home and The Little Wooden Robot and the Log Princess as our driver texts for learning in Geography, History and English.

These engaging stories, both of which focus on journeys, will support our Geography and History learning about our local area. We will use maps, aerial photographs and fieldwork to explore the features of Amesbury and to investigate how the town and our school have changed over time. Amesbury is often said to be one of the oldest places in England where people have lived continuously, making it a very special place to learn about history.

After learning about Amesbury as a settlement, we will go on to study the history of Old Sarum, exploring who settled there and how it developed over time.
