Hello, my name is Mr. Matt Sherfield and I am currently the Year 4 teacher at King's Gate Primary School.
I feel incredibly proud to be part of our school community, having been here since it first opened in 2019. It has been a real privilege to help shape and grow such a welcoming, supportive environment alongside a fantastic team of staff and wonderful children.
I have been teaching since 2011 and have taught across Years 3, 4 and 5. Teaching is something I am truly passionate about, and I still enjoy the variety and challenge that each day brings. Creating engaging, enjoyable learning experiences for the children is at the heart of everything I do.
I work closely with out class TA, Miss Spence, and together we plan and deliver lessons that are varied, creative and inspiring, ensuring all children feel supported and motivated in their learning.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters, particularly getting out for walks and visiting National Trust places. I am also a keen runner and enjoy cycling, as well as watching football, in particular our local team, Salisbury City. In quieter moments, I enjoy reading and watching films—Harry Potter remains a firm favourite!
